SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS REQUIREMENTS

IMPORTANT NOTICE: in order to comply with our documentation procedures, shipping instructions should include the following information. If any of these requirements are missing, MSC is entitled to request a proper shipping instruction to the client, which means that we will not be responsible for any delay caused in the delivery of the original bills of lading.
If you have any queries about these instructions, please do not hesitate to contact our documentation department.

• Port of loading, discharge and final place of delivery (if different from the port of discharge)
  
  
• Full name and address of the shipper (only one shipper allowed per shipping instruction)
  
  
• Full name and address of the consignee (P.O. boxes are not allowed as it is compulsory to state full name and address)
  
  
• Full name and address of the notify (banks not allowed as notify)
  (It would be of assistance if you could provide us with the phone or fax number, or the mail address, just in case MSC need to contact the receiver)
  
  
• Number of the container and seal (if the container is special equipment, -reefer, imo, high cube...- please include full information: temperature, details of imo duly split by goods, extra measures...)
  
  
• Number of packages and gross weight split by container (note that some countries have special requirements to detail the type of packages, i.e.: pallets not allowed, etc.)
  
  
• Description of goods have to be written in English (even if you are forced to show this in Spanish due to letter of credit requirements, you are requested to include a short description of goods in English so that we they can be correctly manifested)
  
  
• The Harmonized Code is mandatory for the shipments to the European Union. Also it should be stated on shipping instructions including different kind of goods to any country.
  
  
• Way bill or Original bill of lading
  
  
• Freight payment location (at origin, destination or elsewhere)
