| GULF REGIONAL COST RECOVERY CHARGE | 22/09/2008 |
In the last period the operations of MSC Mother Vessels and Feeders in the ports of the Arab Gulf and Iran have been affected by berthing delays and poor productivity for reasons beyond our control.
MSC, being fully committed to provide the service at the required standard, have done their best to minimize the consequences of this situation by reinforcing its feedering system and offering extra calls with Mother Vessels at some ports normally served by feeders, whenever it has been possible to accommodate their size.
All these measures have incurred in enormous extra costs for the company and have forced MSC to implement a
GULF REGIONAL COST RECOVERY CHARGE (RCR)
as from 22 September (date of Bill of Lading) of USD 100 x 20’ and USD 200 x 40’
for all containers shipped from any European origin (NWC, Scan-Bal, West & East Med, and Black Sea) to the ports of the Arab Gulf and Iran.
This situation will be constantly kept under monitoring, which means the RCR will be lifted as soon as the situation comes back to normal. |
